Welcome to Lincoln City Church News

Welcome to Lincoln City Church News, a project of Lincoln City Homepage, the No. 1 news site reaching thousands of visitors all over the globe every day.

My name is Cary Moore and I am publisher and editor of LC Church News. I hope this site will give churches in Lincoln City a greater digital presence and audience, that our very fellowship might be a response to this prayer:

“May they all be one, just as, Father, you are in me and I am in you, so that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe it was you who sent me.” – John 17:21 NJB

There are four main sections on the site including a church directory with a map on the left that visitors will find useful as each church has a link to its website.

Next we have a news section where selected contributors can post stories, articles and editorials of interest to the community.

On the right we’ve placed an events calendar. Every church has been invited to provide a contact who will post their church’s events which are open to the community, such as special programs, speakers, bazaars, potlucks, movies and more. Think of it as a church community bulletin.

Pastor’s Corner provides pastors of Lincoln City with a public forum. We’ve invited each of them to share posts, articles, poems, stories or perspectives that will be useful in encouraging the church community.

As for content, what goes in and what stays out? There is one simple question asked of every post:

Does this build the body of Christ?

So important is this principle of, “building the body of Christ,” stated in Ephesians 4:12, that we have placed it at the top of the website.

It is my prayer the respectful conversation conducted through this site will speak to the authenticity of Christ.

  1. Thank you for listing in the EVENTS section of Lincoln City Church News our Witness for Peace event on November 16 in opposition to gun violence in America. Our community’s Just Peace Action Team is a local group started by the Lincoln City Congregational Church (UCC) and is just one of many Oregon groups actively seeking peace and justice in our world. To get a better idea of how many Oregon citizens are joining us this coming weekend in raising our voices against gun violence, click on http://www.lifteveryvoiceoregon.com.
